HARLAXTON - The Great Hall

 This is the Great Hall. It is mostly used as performance center for dance troupes that visit from around the area. The first two pictures are from the doors at either end. The third photo is the chandelier in the Great Hall, which is the biggest in the manor. It’s about three feet in diameter.

The middle picture is the fireplace in the Great Hall. Several scenes from the 1999 remake of The Haunting were filmed in or around Harlaxton. This happens to be the fire place where (spoilers) Owen Wilson was decapitated in the movie. We were all able to stand within it (when it wasn’t burning) without bumping our heads.
